Mason Howard
Bio
Mason Howard was born in Forest, Virginia where she began participating in theatre at a young age. Throughout high school, she participated in theatrical productions and student films where she developed a passion for the arts that led to pursuing a career in technical theatre. She is currently based in New York City.
Education
Mason Howard received a BA in Theatre from the University of South Carolina's Honor's College where she graduated summa cum laude after presenting a thesis titled The Benefits of Audience Interaction and Immersive Theatre. While there, she learned how to ventilate wigs, historical hair styling, and special effects makeup. Following graduation, she attended Paul Mitchell The School: Orlando and is now a licensed cosmetologist.
Employment
Mason Howard has worked as a hair and makeup artist as well as a wig builder and wig supervisor for various professional avenues. She has worked on Broadway, for a national tour, a cruise line, theme parks, and several feature films. Throughout her time in college, she worked in the University of South Carolina's costume shop as a stitcher, craftsperson, dyer, and wig stylist. She has worked as the Hair and Makeup Artist for the It's Alive! exhibit at the Columbia Museum of Art. Favorite projects so far include Wicked and Kinky Boots.
